Job Summary

The Behavioral Health Clinician is responsible for performing level of care assessments with patients who present to the Emergency Department needing behavioral health/substance abuse assistance. Responsible for conducting screening, brief intervention, and referral to treatment (SBIRT) services with patients presenting to the Emergency Department. Works collaboratively with the Emergency Department physician, nurses, primary care providers (PCP) and local community mental health centers to facilitate proper patient referral and disposition from the Emergency Department. Provides intervention therapy sessions via Telehealth to Project HOME Network primary clinics. Provides clinicals assessments for the purpose of disposition plans. Strives for the least restrictive environment within which the patient can achieve resolution of his/her problems, whether that is inpatient admission or referral to an appropriate outpatient service.

Qualifications - Minimum

Master's degree with independent licensure is strongly preferred. Experience in working in a psychiatric setting highly preferred.

LCSW required.

Physical Demands

Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand  coordination. Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time. Frequently lifts and carries items weighing up to 100 pounds (with assistance). Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours. Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.

Variable shift with rotating schedule.
