Job Summary

Employee will support Marketing team on a variety of initiatives, including writing, editing and strategy implementation.

This role will work directly with the Marketing and Integrated Communications leaders to develop content for use via several different channels, including, but not limited to, newsletters, media relations, internal communications, social media, website and intranet. The individual will also support a variety of service line and growth strategies. We are looking for a college student who is full of creative ideas and ready to contribute and learn on a ministry-wide level.  The student should have a strong interest in gaining tangible professional experience in a fast-paced, every-changing, real-world marketing and communications department.The employee will gain visibility into the operations of one of the largest Catholic healthcare systems, will produce concrete deliverables and work with leaders across the ministry. The ideal intern candidate is a college student with an interest in gaining professional experiences in a fast paced, ever-changing, real world marketing and communications department. This position would optimally extend from Fall 2017 or Spring 2018 into the summer and beyond as schedules permit.

Research and create engaging and informative content that can be used across a variety of mediums including media releases, internal communications, social media, company intranet.

Assemble content and help create internal communications, e-news updates and newsletters as needed.

Assist with news media requests including interview set up, escorting media, press conferences, etc.

Work with marketing directors on local service line materials.

Monitor, track and create reports of media relations efforts for senior leadership.

Assist and support additional integrated communication and marketing efforts as defined by regional marketing team.

Support for special events and projects.

Minimum Qualifications: 

Must be a college student at an accredited school. Current or rising junior or senior preferred. Must have excellent writing skills and a working knowledge of AP Style.  Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Must have a record of being a self-starter and ability to work in teams or independently. 
Demonstrated ability to work with teams or independently. Strong self-starter.


Up to 40 hours per week.  Approximately 12 week internship with the opporutnity to extend.  Traveling between Lorain and  Youngstown.
