Job Summary

The Oral Compliance Nurse is responsible for maintaining the Oral Compliance Data. This position requires continuous development and knowledge of drugs and their side effects to develop a strong rapport with patients, their families, and all staff.



Develops, implements and maintains an oral compliance program that meets the COC Standards. Provides education to patients for oral chemotherapy agents and assists in the education of Intravenous infusions as necessary.


Participates in in-service programs and conferences to maintain high quality patient care.


Demonstrates a good working knowledge of drugs and side effects and devises plans autonomously when side effects arise.


Uses professional judgment to accurately and promptly translate nursing decisions and physician orders into action, and demonstrates proficiency in the required nursing skills.


Demonstrates and maintains effective communication/collaboration skills with the multidisciplinary health care team.


Provides patient and significant others with education as indicated and required by ongoing assessment of learning needs, utilizing available resources. Documents any teaching and their response per nursing policy and procedure.

The Registered Nurse is responsible for delivery of patient care and teaching through nursing process. The Registered Nurse directs and guides activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing, and the established policies and procedures of the organization. Assists in the provision of care to patients of all age groups.


Qualifications - Minimum


Required Minimum Education:

2 year Associates Degree

Specialty/Major: Graduate of accredited college/university


Preferred Education:

4 year Bachelors Degree

Specialty/Major: BSN



Required: State of Ohio Nursing License, Chemo Certified


Preferred: OCN (Oncology Nurse Certification)



3 years of Oncology Nursing Experience.


Good oral and written communication skills, demonstrates knowledge and skill in oncology nursing theory and practice, efficient in Microsoft office and other computer programs.



Hours per pay period: 80

Hours: 8:00am to 4:30pm

No weekend or holidays hours may vary depending on business needs.
