Job Summary

Under supervision and according to existing procedures and systems, provides a variety of member service functions, including receipt and payment of money, opening new deposit accounts, cross-selling services, resolving account related problems, and effectively communicating with members.


Qualifications - Minimum


High School graduate or equivalent required.


Bank teller or cashier training preferred.


Three (3) to six (6) months experience as Credit Union Trainee or recent experience with a full-service financial institution having comparable services preferred.


Bookkeeping/accounting skills preferred.


Must be of credible background and bondable.


A high level of interpersonal skills is required to provide helpful and courteous service to members and credit union staff.  Employee must maintain member confidentiality according to established credit union policies.


A high level or organizational skills is required, as work demands performing accurately.  Work flow changes frequently and employee must at times perform multiple tasks, sometimes under pressure.


Work requires analytical skills to balance accounts and perform required teller functions.


Must have ability to work independently, following established policies and procedures.


Ability to operate standard office equipment.  Computer skills preferred.


Knowledge of credit union/banking operations, rules and regulations preferred.


Must be proficient with operational software within 60 days of hire.


Must be a quick learner, accurate, and willing to take on new responsibility.
