Job Summary
The Director works under the responsibility of the VP of Strategy and Planning and has a matrix reporting relationship to the Chief Nursing Officer. Responsible for all perioperative services including surgery, pre-admission testing, pre-operative services, sterile processing, and post anesthesia care for the Region. Has additional responsibility for the Wound Care program. The Director is responsible for the overall operations of these departments. The Director will also collaborate with Business Development for the growth of perioperative services. The Director is responsible for the quality of the services provided and maintaining certification and accreditation with the appropriate governing agencies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Provides overall direction necessary to ensure that department services and programs are provided in accordance with standards established by the health center and outside regulatory and licensing agencies.
Ensures that services are meeting the needs of patients, surgeons, and other key stakeholders.
Interviews, selects, ensures proper training of, and when necessary disciplines and/or discharges department personnel.
Develops, secures approval of, and implements the short term and long term departmental goals and objectives that assist the health center in achieving the objectives outlined in the strategic plan.
Develops and implements the approved annual department budget.
Leads quality improvement of perioperative services to create increased value for customers.
Assists in the creation of growth strategies and implements those strategies under their span of control.
Qualifications - Minimum
EDUCATION:
Required Minimum Education:
4 year Bachelors Degree
Specialty/Major: Nursing
Preferred Education:
Graduate Degree (Masters)
Specialty/Major: Nursing, Business, Management or another related field.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS:
Required: Must have a current license in the state of Ohio as a registered nurse.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 2 years of demonstrated successful leadership in a multi-site healthcare organization.
Must possess detailed knowledge of surgical operations. With at least 5 year’s experience in perioperative services.

Hours: 7:00am to 3:30pm
