Job Summary

St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima, Ohio is a 425-bed acute care not-for-profit facility which delivers quality health care to more people in West Central Ohio than any other hospital in a 10-12 county region. St. Rita’s has consistently achieved top quartile performance in quality, finance, and human resources.  St. Rita’s is part of Mercy Health (formerly Catholic Health Partners) and was recently named one of the Top 100 Hospitals for Patient Experience by WomenCertified. 

St. Rita’s has 16 operating rooms (OR), plus two obstetrics C-birth suites in the main hospital and an ambulatory surgery center.  Monthly volumes average 637 in the main OR and 220 in the ambulatory surgery center.  Currently two robotic systems are used; a Hybrid OR is scheduled to open later this year.

Reporting to the President St. Rita Medical Center (SRMC) the Director Perioperative Services is responsible for performance and outcomes of OR PACU, Central Services, Same Day Surgery, Endoscopy, Specialty Clinics, perioperative Services and out-patient services.  Other responsibilities include:

  • Strategic planning, program development, implementation and assessment of patient care services within the entire scope of the position,
  • Responsible for safe, efficient and quality patient care,
  • Support medical center initiatives, programs and projects,
  • Develop leadership team and staff to ensure highest level of engagement,
  • Interact with physicians to assure good team work and patient outcomes.

Qualifications - Minimum

Director Perioperative Services Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) required. Master’s in nursing (MSN) is preferred.
  • Must be licensed to practice in Ohio.
  • Minimum of seven years of recent management experience in acute surgical setting required.
  • Experience with analytics, planning, communication, negotiations, relationship building and networking required.
  • Capable to mentor, guide and coach direct reports in order to expand their capabilities, build management depth and teamwork within the areas of responsibility.
  • Ability to ensure effective resource utilization through communication and scheduling efficiencies.
  • Strong research skills and computer acumen to developquery and reporting processes to monitor performance indicators to meet established standards   

Hours

Hours per pay period: 80

Hours: 7:00am to 3:30pm

24/7 Responsibility.
