Responsible for direction of all patient care in department. Manages staff RN’s, LPN’s, and healthcare workers assigned to the area. Consults with staff physicians and Nurse Executive on nursing and patient care issues and interpretation of hospital policies to ensure patient needs are met. Maintains and participates in performance improvement activities within the department and hospital. Formulates and monitors budget for the department.
Qualifications - Minimum
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or related healthcare field preferred or experience equivalent to this gained through progressively more responsibility in leadership. Maintains RN licensure in the state of Ohio. Minimum of three years clinical nursing experience in specialty area. Current ACLS certification, BCLS required, OB-Neonatal resuscitation and fetal monitor advance training.
Two years in nursing management with leadership experience to anticipate the needs of the nursing unit, recruitment needs and retention strategies.
