Will work under direct supervision to disassemble, clean, assemble, sterilize and store procedure trays, instruments, equipment and supplies according to prescribed procedures and aseptic technique; complete requests to dispense equipment and supplies and assist to maintain and process patient charge records and maintain department inventory. Adheres to established quality standards while performing assigned duties in an efficient manner to minimize material-related expense. Employee carries out responsibilities specified by departmental policies and procedures and other duties assigned by department Manager.
Qualifications - Minimum
Graduate of high school or equivalent. Basic computer skills. Communication skills including a service-oriented, positive attitude necessary in order to relate effectively with patients, families, departments and medical staff. Conscientious regard for technical and minute procedures. Approximately three to six months of on-the-job experience. The Sterile Processing Technician II must have completed a program for registration or have certification from an accredited program.
Hours per pay period: 60
Hours: variable hours between 7:00 a.m. - 7:30 p.m.
Variable hours primarily Monday through Friday with a weekend rotation and holiday call rotation.
