The Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering care to patients by utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation; and effectively interacts with patient, significant others, and other health team members while maintaining standards of professional nursing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Performs patient assessment and care planning, considering the patient's age group, severity of condition/disease to include physical, psychosocial, cultural, environmental, self-care and educational needs
Utilize the nursing process by demonstrating appropriate assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient's care
Assess the patient; collect and document the patient's current health status and medical history
Teach patient/significant other appropriate health information in a timely manner and share written informational material
Communicate with the physician regarding patient needs, the nursing assessments, and recommendations on a daily basis, and as needed
Identifies patient/family individualized learning needs and implements measures to meet those needs based on patient/family capabilities to learn
Perform direct patient care, utilizing established procedures, policies, and standards
Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of all policies and procedures and ability to reference them from appropriate books and manuals
Demonstrate ability to handle emergency situations in a prompt, precise, and professional manner
Schedules tests as directed by provider
Assists physician and office procedures and testing
In conjunction with the provider, formulates a goal directed plan of care which is prioritized and based on determined nursing diagnosis and patient outcomes
Implements care in a safe, knowledgeable, skillful, consistent and continuous manner
Evaluates the effectiveness of equipment and processes for achieving positive patient outcomes
Adheres to the safety policies and procedures of SRPS
Recognizes and reports potential safety issues
Demonstrates ability to utilize biomedical equipment
Must be trained and competent in the Scheduling, MA/Nurse 100 & 200 functionality of CarePATH
Maintains confidentiality and actively supports patient/family rights
Supports and contributes to organizational cost-saving initiatives
Serves as a patient advocate
Administer medications according to practice policies and procedures
Administer IV's according to SRPS policies and procedures
Maintain a clean, neat, and safe environment for patient and staff
Attends staff meetings as directed by the practice manager/supervisor
Assist patients, family members or other clients with concern and empathy; respect their confidentiality and privacy and communicate with them in a courteous and respectful manner
Answer and refer telephone calls or other inquires to ensure accurate and timely communications are facilitated, triages phone calls as necessary
Demonstrate sound judgment by taking appropriate actions regarding questionable findings or concerns
Ensure compliance with regulatory standards
Consistently demonstrate ability to respond to changing situations in a flexible manner in order to meet current needs, such as reprioritizing work as necessary
Minimize non-productive time and fill slow periods with activities that will enable you to prepare to meet the future needs of SRPS (education, organizing, and housekeeping, assisting others)
Maintain regular attendance and do not incur excessive overtime.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications - Minimum
1 to 3 years experience preferred. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations License:
Must have current, valid, unrestricted RN license in the state of Ohio.
Education and/or Experience:
Education: Associates Degree
Years of Experience:
1 to 3 years experience in physician office setting preferred.
Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and hold a current, valid, unrestricted license in the state of Ohio.
Hours per pay period: 80
