Job Summary

Performs a variety of duties related to sorting, distributing, and par leveling linen supplies according to hospital guidelines for quality and service. Collects soiled linen from all departments and stages it for return to the vendor. Redistributes to appropriate areas of the medical center upon arrival from the vendor.

 

Provides exceptional customer service throughout the organization by stocking the appropriate level of linen in the wall-storage units, automated cabinets, and various unit linen storage rooms and resolving any service discrepancies when they arise.

 

Follows established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, performance improvement process, security and safety standards including proper lifting techniques, fire safety, and operation of delivery equipment.

 

Ensures departmental procedures are followed in connection with collecting soiled linen and equipment, folding, storage, and quality checks of clean linen, all linen and equipment par levels, and any areas as needed by/for the linen department.

 

Completes cleaning assignments per departmental guidelines. Includes sweeping, dusting, mopping, trash removal. Maintains work area free of excess supplies, linen, equipment or other objects that could become a safety hazard.

 

Performs regular cycle counts of linen per department schedule.

 

Qualifications - Minimum

Education:

High School Diploma/GED

 

Hours

Hours per pay period: 80

Hours: 7:00am to 3:30pm

Rotating Holidays and Weekends as well as rotating shifts.
