An E.D. Tech I is a team member who is able to perform certain skills under the direct supervision of the Shift Supervisor or Charge Nurse. He/she is able to identify departmental needs and implement appropriate action under the direction of an RN or physician. Contributes to the plan of care in a safe, knowledgeable, skillful, consistent and continuous manner in conjunction with other members of the health care team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintains par levels of supplies in the Emergency Department by monitoring use/availability of special order supplies and Omnicell’s.
Performs cycle counts of each Omnicell storage module on a weekly basis.
Maintains par levels of linen in each treatment room / patient care area.
Assists in supporting clean, safe, hazard-free environment.
Maintains and ensures availability of equipment specific to the Emergency Department.
Performs daily room checks, maintains adequate supply levels to ensure proper supplies in the treatment rooms/areas.
Adheres to the safety policies and procedures of the organization.
Recognizes and reports potential safety issues.
Demonstrates ability to use biomedical equipment properly.
Maintains confidentiality and actively supports patient/family rights.
Supports and contributes to organizational cost saving initiatives.
Serves as patient advocate.
Participates in unit/divisional professional clinical practice.
Performs other duties as assigned.
