Evaluates, plans, and implements Physical Therapy for team members of all training levels and employees of designated professional team according to standards of practice of the profession, laws governing practice by the State of Ohio, and facility and department policies and procedures. Collaborates with the Team Chief Medical Officer and Sports Medicine team to maximize functional outcomes for the patient. Develops and maintains open relationships for communication, education and patient progress with CMO, Medical team and coaching staff at all appropriate levels. Supports Mercy Health regional Sports Medcine programs as indicated to represent Mercy Health Orthopaedic and Sports Medcine Service Line association and services for the team. Activities may include, but are not limited to, Athletic Events, Health Fairs, Community Injury Screens and Educational Programs. The primary role functions as part of the Rehabilitation team with CMO, Physical Therapists, Sports Medicine Team, Coach, and patient/family accordingly. Secondary services include management and supervision of any Mercy Health Rehabilitation staff assisting and supporting care of any athlete associated with the team. This will include time management in clinic, professional growth plans and input for annual performance reviews. The individual is also responsibile to provide edcuational services of on onsite mentoring and academic presentations for the Mercy Health ABPTRFE accredicated Sports Specialty Physical Therapy Residency. It is recognized that the role of a Professional Sports Team Physical Therapist is a highly specialized position requiring advanced treatment skills, clinical management and supervisory roles and excellent communciation skills with athlete, CMO, Medical team and coaching staff to develop a trusting, professional relationships facilitating ongoing clinical and business success.
