Directs all activities of the Hospice, Home Care and Palliative Care Program. Consistent with the Mission and Core Values, proactively anticipates, identifies, plans, organizes and directs the operational and strategic activities of the Hospice, Home Care and Palliative Care Programs. Responsible for the functions of strategic planning, business growth, financial/budgetary management and development/enhancement of provider relationships. In collaboration with appropriate interdisciplinary team members, is responsible for the oversight of clinical programs, regulatory compliance, performance improvement, certification and accreditation and quality improvement processes. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these departments. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Develops, implements, and evaluates department specific and organizational programs and activities. Responsible for daily ongoing activity of assigned area and mentoring of Managers and other staff assigned to them. Integrates organizational mission and values into all behaviors and responsibilities. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications - Minimum
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
Masters degree in healthcare or business related field preferred.
Documented work history at least three (3-5) years in Hospice or community health, with focus in program administration, development, evaluation, marketing, and other management activities.
High level knowledge of the hospice/home care industry, government regulations, and reimbursement system.
Demonstrated strategic and analytical ability necessary to develop visions of business objectives and formulate long range plans and evaluate data required. Ability to communicate plans to peers, CHP Board members and CHP medical staffs in credible manner.
A high level of interpersonal skill, tact, and diplomacy required to deal effectively with a wide variety of internal and external publics and to make effective presentations before groups. Must possess excellent listening skills to better understand needs of various constituents.
Strong organizational and leadership skills. Ability to work well within/with a team.
Must possess self-direction, motivation, and time management skills.
Must be able to develop and maintain effective working relationships with people at varying ages, education, social, economic, and ethnic backgrounds.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
