The role of the Lead Medical Assistant is to provide support to the clinical staff on all aspects of the patient care.
The Lead will be responsible for the daily clinical functions of the assigned practice. The Lead serves as the expert for coordinating procedures, the patient experience, patient visits and to ensure quality patient care. This position works closely with the Practice Manager in coordinating physician clinical scheduling needs for the office.
Develop and implement clinical process improvement and direct work of clinical staff on a daily basis.
Will work as a Lead Medical Assistant in primary practice assigned. This % will vary depending on the size of the clinical site.
Maintains a current knowledge of all clinical departmental policies, procedures, functions and CarePATH in order to make appropriate clinical decisions.
Ensures adherence of best practice clinical assessment tool, clinical workflow, infection control, clinical protocols, medication adherence, rooming protocols, meaningful use.
Responsible for training new clinical employees working at site, and well as employees who need re-training.
Responsible for working with providers to ensure Press Ganey Patient Experience scores are strong. Responsible for implementing processes at sites when experience scores are not meeting benchmarks.
Maintains, supports and communicates clinical initiatives such as PCMH, EMMI, Tel-Assurance, Meaningful Use.
Qualifications - Minimum
Required Minimum Education:
Specialty/Major: RMA/CMA or LPN
2 year Associates Degree
Required: Registered Medical Assistant through AMT, Certified Medical Assistant through AAMA, or Ohio LPN license.
3 years of Outpatient clinical practice experience.
Candidate must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and have a strong knowledge of outstanding customer service/patient experience.
