Under general supervision, assist the pharmacist to fill physician's orders, select, assemble, and place medications for inpatient and/or outpatient services. A Pharmacy Technician II must be a Certified Pharmacy Technician. The Pharmacy Technician II will have a variety of job responsibilities within the inpatient or outpatient pharmacy that may encompass a variety of activities.
Assists the pharmacist in the preparation of medications to patients.
Assures the accurate and timely distribution and receiving of medications, IV solutions, floor stock, and controlled substances.
Responsible for accurate charge/credit functions for inpatient/outpatient medications.
Assists in the education and precepting of new pharmacy technicians, pharmacy students, and PI activities.
Assist other hospital staff with medication/pharmacy related issues via phone calls or in person.
Assist in management of computer in basket messages.
Qualifications - Minimum
Certified Pharmacy Technician
Certified Pharmacy Technician as recognized by a national certification organization.
Ability to perform basic math calculations related to drug product preparation. Ability to communicate effectively in a professional manner.
Hours per pay period: 80
Rotate weekend and holiday shifts per department need.
