Provides assistance as required in all dietary functions as directed and instructed by the Manager, Dining Services and/or Cook/Supervisor.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists cook in determining amount and type of food and supplies required for daily meals.
Obtain food and supplies as directed from storeroom and freezers.
Assist in preparation of food as directed.
Prepares trays and serves food according to menus
Delivers and pick-up of tray carts to country kitchen area for meal service.
Set-up, serve and clear ALF Dining room.
Performs dishwashing procedures, including pots and pans and all equipment.
Set-up for next meal.
Performs cleaning duties in kitchen, serving areas and dining room as scheduled and directed.
Clean refrigeration equipment and storerooms as scheduled.
Prepare and deliver snacks and supplements to nursing stations.
Attend in service meetings.
Keep accurate records.
Other duties as assigned.
Well-lighted, well-ventilated work areas. Expose to heat and cold temperatures in kitchen and storeroom. Subject to burns, cuts, falls, and electrical equipment. Possible exposure to hazardous chemicals. Stands and walks short distance most of the workday. Lifting and moving supplies and equipment. Working in close quarters with other employees at times. Pressure of meeting meal schedules.
Qualifications - Minimum
High school Graduate or equivalent.
Educational course in Food Management and Production preferred.
Ability to work in close cooperation with co-workers and other departments.
High degree of personal cleanliness and hygiene.
Good physical and mental health.
Sense of responsibility.
Reports to the Manager of Dining Services and/or Cook/Supervisor.
Hours per pay period: 32
Holidays and weekends are rotated.
