Job Summary

Responds to calls, performs endotracheal intubation, cardiac monitoring, patient assessment and triage - airway and ventilation, IV therapy, defibrillation. Administers medications as appropriate.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Responds to calls

Perform endotracheal intubation

Administer medications

Performs cardiac monitoring

Perform patient assessment and triage - airway and ventilation

Perform IV therapy

Perform basic life support

Apply bandages and splints

Perform defibrillation

Assess the medical situation

Extricate the patient and prepare him or her for transport

Provides proper care and appropriate communication enroute

Provides safe and efficient transport

Maintain proper reports and records

Care for the vehicle and equipment

Maintains confidentiality and actively supports patient/family rights.

Serves as a patient advocate.

Qualifications - Minimum

Paramedic Certification, Driver’s License

 

Employee must have very strong communication skills. Employee must be able give directions clearly. Ability to read, analyze and interpret professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to document data collections and observations.
