Job Summary

Performs a variety of high-level maintenance functions including: electrical, Heating/cooling, plumbing, construction, etc. performs all functions of Facilities Technicians 1 and 2.

 

Qualifications - Minimum

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Graduation from an accredited high school or vocational program offering training in electrical, plumbing, mechanical and/or electronics maintenance. Maintains and/or working towards licensure in related field (i.e. journeyman license, and/or state contractor’s license). Associates degree in a related field or plant maintenance and/or a completed apprenticeship with certification form an approved trade school or college.

 

At least 5 years of maintenance service with experience in electrical installation, plumbing, mechanical, electronics, or heating and ventilating systems, or four years as an accomplished Facilities Tech II.

 

Knowledge of the concepts, techniques, and principles used in the maintenance of buildings and complex mechanicals systems.

 

Working knowledge of basic carpentry, plumbing, mechanics, controls, electrical systems, electronics, refrigeration, heating systems, and sanitation.

 

Knowledge of the safety characteristics of mechanical systems.

 

Ability to communicate effectively with others, both orally and in writing.

 

Ability to adjust to new methods, techniques, and equipment.

 

Ability to assume to responsibility for work performance.

 

Ability to perform a wide variety of procedures and to quickly evaluate and meet unusual situations.

 

Ability to stand, stoop, climb, crouch, lift, and operate equipment throughout the working day.

 

Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships.

 

Ability to maintain confidences.

 

Ability to maintain high productivity performance.

 

Ability to function as a Group Leader.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

 

Works in adverse and potentially hazardous conditions.

 

Works in close proximity to pressurized steam and high voltage.

 

Works close proximity to moving parts of machinery and equipment.

 

Works in an atmosphere of extreme temperature (hot and cold), noise, dirty, and fumes.

 

Works out-of-doors in all types of weather.

Hours per pay period: 80

Hours: 7:00am to 3:30pm
