Job Summary

This position develops physician relationships and strong professional long-term alliances with physicians and their office staff by being aware and responsive to their needs and delivering quality results. The Physician Relations Consultant will develop a strategy based on system initiatives to deliver practice management solutions. The Physician Relations Consultant presents incentives to increase utilization and loyalty by effectively promoting service lines. The Physician Relations Consultant ensures key customers receive educational opportunities and marketing of the hospital programs. The Physician Relations Consultant facilitates the communication between service line leaders and physicians.



Responsible for creating, maintaining and strengthening relationships with area physicians to support hospital and health system strategies and services.


Works with leadership to determine specific service line or providers to target for increased market share in alignment with the strategy of Mercy Health.


Solicits physician feedback regarding hospital service lines and routes to appropriate hospital personnel for management.  Performs ongoing follow up with physician or physician’s designee.  Visits to not less than 40 physician offices/health care providers/facility based programs per week to promote Mercy Health services.  Consistently maintains these encounters in Salesforce.


Maintains existing key relationships and ensures retention of current providers.


Identifies contacts and actively solicits qualified providers to utilize the services available at Mercy Health Facilities.


Possess key local market knowledge across the organization and within the assigned business region.


Develop a deep understanding of all services provided by Mercy Health and ability to educate area physician on these services.


Adherence to Corporate Ethics and Compliance standard, Stark and Anti-Kickback laws and regulation, non-compete/non-solicitation.


Qualifications - Minimum


Required Minimum Education:

4 year Bachelors Degree


Preferred Education:

Graduate Degree (Masters)

Specialty/Major: Business/Sales and Marketing
